Finance is not a favored word. Money isn’t infinite. The concept of dollars is a fickle one — and too often do you find yourself comparing costs, trying to uncover every single bargain. It isn’t an easy process, but it is a necessary one. And you’ve learned to apply good sense to all important decisions.
And your education is no different.
The quest for knowledge is one you would never refuse. Information is to be sought and philosophy is to be learned. But philosophy — you’ve discovered — can be expensive and private institutions (despite offering the specialization you crave) demand far too much for their courses. Their fees are high, with the burden of maintaining their services falling upon the students. Your tuition would help to support the entire school; and, while this may offer a sense of pride, it also provides a shattering truth: you can’t afford it.
You don’t have to.
Public universities are instead available — and these can offer the relief you need.
Often students believe public schools to be weak. They assume that large classes and larger campuses will only breed confusion. And, while none could deny that there is a lack of intimacy within these organizations, their lack of expense compensates. Public universities — due to the funding they receive from the government — allow their pupils to pay less. Admission fees are reasonable and semesters can be obtained for often three times less than private colleges. This can accumulate considerable savings over the course of four years: with many students being spared $100,000 dollars for their entire education.
And this can’t be dismissed.
While public schools may lack the prestige of their counterparts, they still provide a viable reason to attend them: instant discounts. Dollars can be spared and funds can be saved. And, for those who are defined by budgets, this is important. Credits can be obtained without emptying a bank account — and money doesn’t have to be wasted on unnecessary tuition rates.
Education is meant for all. Public schools allow this to occur. Affordability is no longer a concern.
